Travis Ballew collected his first ValleyCats win after pitching 2 innings, giving up a hit and striking out 3.

Greeneville Astros 9 Kingsport Mets 5
The game was suspended at 5-5 in the 5th inning yesterday due to inclement weather. Upon continuation today, Greeneville was the only team scoring. Jean Batista went 4 for 5 overall with a 2B, 3B, 2 RBI and scored 3 runs. Brian Blasik went 3 for 5 with 3 RBI's. The pitching staff used 2 pitchers yesterday and 2 today. Overall, they combined for 10 SO's and 5 walks. Jordan Jankowski geared his second win of the season after throwing the first 2 innings today. Jankowski allowed 1 hit and issued 2 BB's.

Greeneville Astros 9 Kingsport Mets 5
It's not a typo. Greeneville won 2 games in the same day against Kingsport by the same score. Zachary Dando got the second win of the day and the first of his season after coming on in the 5th to pitch 3 innings. Dando allowed 1 run on 2 hits, struck out 4 and walked 2. Greeneville stole 3 bases and drew 9 walks in the game. Ruben Sosa went 3 for 3, drew one of those walks and also stole one of those bases.

Lancaster JetHawks 6 Lake Elsinore Storm 7
The JetHawks led almost the entire game Saturday night and lost the lead in the bottom of the 9th. Lancaster had 6 players with multi-hit games. Chris Epps led the charge for the JetHawks, collecting his 4th HR and going 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's and a walk. Domingo Santana went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's and a run scored. The loss on Saturday is the 10th time in a row Lancaster has lost to the Storm at their home stadium.

Omaha Storm Chasers 3 Oklahoma City RedHawks 4
Fernando Martinez had a big night with the bat going 3 for 3 and scoring a run. Scott Moore led off the second with a solo shot to center field and ended up going 1 for 2 at the plate with a walk. Quevedo struck out all three batters he faced.

Game of the Day
Corpus Christi Hooks 5 Frisco RoughRiders 1
Corpus Christi had a 6 hit shutout going until the 9th inning Saturday. Their win Saturday marks the second win in as many games against Frisco in this 4 game set and 4 straight against Frisco. Jonathan Villar snagged his 33rd stolen base of the season Saturday night and Jose Martinez went 2 for 4 at the plate with a HR and a walk. Martinez's HR brought him his 48th RBI. Travis Buck added 2 RBI's and hit a double. Jake Buchanan moved to 4-5 with the win Saturday through 7.2 innings pitched. Buchanan did not allow a run on 6 hits, walked 2 and struck out 4.

What went right: Jake Buchanan threw a great game for the Hooks and got the run support to boot.

What went wrong: Drew Locke did absolutely nothing at the plate Saturday night.

Jake Buchanan 7.2 IP 2BB 4SO
Arcenio Leon .1 IP R SO
Jason Stoffel 1.0 IP

Andrew Simunic 2x5 R
Jose Martinez 2x4 HR RBI BB SO 2R
Travis Buck 1x5 2B 2RBI SO R

Player of the Day: Delino DeShields is, without a doubt, the player of the day. Not only has he set a new Legends stolen base record, he's done it 3 games into the second half. In other words, we're still counting.

Pitcher of the Day: Jake Buchanan gets the honor today. Buchanan had a shutout going through the 8th inning in Frisco and received the run support to help him get the win.
