Arizona Fall and Winter League Recaps - 10/26

ARIZONA FALL LEAGUE

Mesa over Scottsdale 8-4
Mesa really needed this win. They had lost nine in a row after recording their last win on October 13th. RHP Jarred Cosart got the start and allowed two runs on four hits and two walks with three strikeouts in three innings pitched. He was followed by RHP Nick Tropeano who provided a scoreless inning of relief, walking one and striking out one as he lowered his ERA to 2.25. RHP Chia-Jen Lo got the win in relief as he allowed only one hit over one and a third innings. CF George Springer was 0-for-3 with a walk and two strikeouts, and he scored a run. 1B Jon Singleton was 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI triple, and scored two runs.

Today's Game - Salt River (8-7) at Mesa (4-11) at 2:35 CST

VENEZUELAN WINTER LEAGUE

La Guaira over Aragua 4-3
2B Jose Martinez was 0-for-2 with two walks for Aragua.

DOMINICAN WINTER LEAGUE

All games postponed.

MEXICAN PACIFIC WINTER LEAGUE

Hermosillo over Navajoa 1-0
Garrett Mock got his first start and second win for Hermosillo as he pitched five shutout innings with two hits, three walks and four strikeouts. He has not allowed a run in four appearances.

  1. Was wondering if I was going to have to make a return trip to Arizona. Up until their win yesterday their last win was at a game I attended. It's painful to see Borchering struggling this bad in the AFL.

  2. So it's your fault! ;-) Yeah, Borchering is not doing well. As we "speak," he's 0-for-2 with a strikeout in today's game and his batting average is down to .097.
