Astros Minor League Standings and Farm System Win Percentages

I've been a little slow in keeping the front page updated with the standings of the Astros various minor league clubs so here is a little breakdown for you.

Oklahoma City (47-40) is currently in third place (out of four teams) in their division. They are one and a half games behind and have won three in a row.

Corpus Christi (47-37) is still in first place overall for the full season ... barely. After losing five in a row, they are only a half game up over the Missions. For the second half, they are 5-9 and are fourth (out of four) in the division, three games behind. Thankfully, they are assured a playoff berth by virtue of winning the first half.

Lancaster (51-34) is still in first place overall for the season, four games ahead of second place Inland Empire. For the second half, they are 12-3 and two games ahead of Inland Empire (who they will be playing five times in the next eight games).

Quad Cities (48-35) is in third place overall for the season (out of eight teams) and are six and a half games back. For the second half, they are also in third place but are only two games behind with a 10-4 record.

Tri-City (12-6) is in first place, one game ahead of second place Lowell who they will be playing two more games against after having lost to them on Thursday night.

Greeneville (8-5) got off to a bad 1-5 start to the season, but they regrouped and have now won seven straight games. They are in second place (out of five teams) and are currently two games in back of Elizabethton.

The GCL Astros (7-3) are in second place as far as win percentage goes, but are actually ahead of the Tigers in wins, having played three additional games, and lead them by a half game.

The DSL Astros (16-11) are in third place (out of eight teams) in their division and are three games out. Through 27 games last season, the DSL Astros were 9-18. They are playing much, much better this season.

As far as overall win percentages of the various farm systems, the Astros lead all 30 systems with a .580 win percentage. There are only four systems with an overall system win percentage that is equal to or better than the Astros team with the worst win percentage (Oklahoma City's .540 mark). Here are how some of the top teams are doing and how our division rivals are faring as well.

.580 - Astros
.575 - Rangers
.564 - Twins
.541 - Giants
.540 - Mets
.532 - Mariners
.524 - Athletics
.499 - Angels

And for a little Schadenfreude ... the Yankees are at .473.
