Porter was announced as the 21st Manager in Astros franchise history on September 27, 2012. He inherited a rebuilding team that had lost 213 games in the prior two seasons. His current record as manager is 31-55. As my friend Beth would say, "Bless his heart."

OF/1B Curt Blefary (died January 28, 2001 at 57)
Obtained in a trade with Baltimore on December 4, 1968 and traded away to the Yankees exactly one year later, Blefary played in 155 games for Houston in 1969, hitting .253/.347/.393. Blefary was the AL Rookie of the Year in 1965 while playing for Baltimore. He also sported a rather spectacular unibrow.
