Happy Birthday - 10/17

Happy Birthday to ~

RHP Alex Gillingham (24)
Originally drafted by the Rockies in the 11th round in 2011 out of Loyola Marymount University, Gillingham came into the Astros system in a December 2012 trade with the Rockies for Wilton Lopez. Gillingham only pitched eight innings in April with forgettable results before going on the DL. He spent the last few months of the season on Team Rehab at Kissimmee.

Lancaster Pitching Coach Don Alexander (55)
Alexander is one of the longest tenured coaches in the Astros system and has had the unenviable task for four of the last five seasons of mentoring young pitchers in one of the most hitter-friendly minor league ballparks in the country.

Former Astros with birthdays today ~

C Chris Tremie (44)
Originally drafted by the White Sox in the 39th round in 1992, Tremie signed as a free agent with the Astros in 2000 and toiled for four seasons in the Astros minor league system before getting into one game in September 2004. A late inning defensive replacement, he didn't get an at-bat with the Astros. In 2013, Tremie managed the Columbus Clippers, a Cleveland affiliate, in the International League.

IF Edwin Maysonet (32)
Drafted by Houston in the 9th round in 2003, Maysonet played in a total of 46 games for the Astros in 2008 and 2009, hitting .276/.317/.342. He played in the Cubs minor league system in 2013.
