Astros Minor League Snapshot

The minor league season is now seven weeks old. Let's take a look at where things stand.

OKLAHOMA CITY

1st   26-21   .553   -.-GB   W2

The RedHawks are in first place place in the American Northern Division, one game in front of the Iowa Cubs. Tonight will be their final game of a 4-game series with New Orleans; they lead the series 2-1. They will then head to play Southern Division third place Memphis for four games. The 'Hawks lead the season series with Memphis 5-3. They will then return home on Tuesday to host a 4-game series with fourth place division rival Omaha. The RedHawks lead Omaha by five games in the standings and are tied with them 2-2 for the season series.

CORPUS CHRISTI

3rd   24-21   .533   3.0GB   W2

In the South Division, the Hooks trail Frisco by three games and Midland by one. The Hooks are one game in to a 12 game stretch in which they will be playing the two North Division Arkansas teams, six on the road followed by six at home. Corpus Christi won the first game against the Arkansas Travelers who are 21-23 and in second place in their division and will play two more before heading to Springdale, Arkansas to take on the Northwest Arkansas Naturals. The Naturals currently have a 16-28 record and are in last place in their division.

LANCASTER

T1st    27-20   .574   -.-GB   L1

Lancaster is yet again tied with Lake Elsinore for first place in the South Division, and High Desert is yet again only trailing by one game. Lancaster will face off against the North Division first place Bakersfield team tonight in the rubber game of the series before heading back to The Caster to host four against Inland Empire. Lancaster is 2-2 in the season series against the 66ers who currently occupy the basement in the South Division with a 17-30 record. On Tuesday, they will head to Lake Elsinore for three games; the 'Hawks lead that season series 8-4.

QUAD CITIES

5th    21-23   .477   8.0GB   W1

Quad Cities is currently in fifth place in the 8-team division, eight games out of first. They are a .001 percentage point behind fourth place Cedar Rapids who they will be hosting for three games starting tonight. The River Bandits are 2-1 in the season series with that team. They will then head out to play seventh place Burlington (20-23) on the road for three starting Sunday. Quad Cities and Burlington are tied 1-1 in the season series with a 4-4 suspended game in the offing. The Bandits will then return home next Wednesday for three against last place Beloit (20-25) against whom they are 4-2 on the season.
