Astros Minor League Snapshot

The minor league season is now eight weeks old. Let's take a look at where things stand.

OKLAHOMA CITY

2nd   29-25   .537   0.5GB   L2

The RedHawks slipped to second place place in the American Northern Division, one-half game behind the Iowa Cubs. They are currently hosting third place Omaha against whom they have dropped the first two of their 4-game series (2-4 on the season). Memphis, currently occupying third place in the American Southern Division, will come to Bricktown for four games starting on Saturday. The RedHawks are 8-4 against Memphis so far this season. That will be followed by an off day next Wednesday.

In the South Division, the Hooks trail Frisco by four games and Midland by one. Tonight, the Hooks face Arkansas at home in the rubber game of the series (3-2 on the season) before hosting Northwest Arkansas for three over the weekend. The Hooks are 1-2 against Northwest Arkansas (18-33) this season. They will have Monday off before traveling to play division rival Midland for a 4-game series starting Tuesday (5-7 for the season series).

Lancaster is yet again tied with Lake Elsinore for first place in the South Division after taking the first two from that team in the ongoing 3-game road series. (The 'Hawks are 10-4 against Lake Elsinore in the season series.) High Desert trails by three games. After looking for a sweep tonight, the JetHawks will head back home to face 4th place Rancho Cucamonga for four games and 5th place Inland Empire for three. Lancaster is 3-4 against Rancho Cucamonga this season and 5-3 against Inland Empire.

Quad Cities is currently in fourth place in the 8-team division, nine and a half games behind Kane County, but only a half game behind third place Clinton. The River Bandits took the first game in a 3-game series at home against Beloit last night; they are now 5-2 against the 8th place Beloit team for the season. They will then head to 7th place Wisconsin (against whom they are 1-2 for the season) for three starting on Saturday followed by an off day on Tuesday. Quad Cities will then face off against Burlington on the road. The Bandits are 2-4 against Burlington for the season and hold only a half-game lead on that team.
