What a disaster. The Express blew a 7-0 lead and allowed 11 runs in the last four innings of this game.
Ryan Hartman allowed two hits and struck out seven over five shutout innings. Akeem Bostick and Kent Emanuel both got roughed up and I think it's best if I left it at that.
Taylor Jones scored the first run of the evening when Jamie Ritchie grounded into a force out with the bases loaded in the 2nd. Round Rock scored three in the 3rd on a sac fly from Jones and a two-run single from Nick Tanielu. Jack Mayfield launched a three-run homer in the 6th and Kyle Tucker smacked a solo homer in the 9th that tied the game at 8. Jones, Tucker, Tanielu, and Ritchie all finished with two hits in the game. Tucker also stole a base, his third of the season.
Corbin Martin gets the start in game two. He'll face Hector Noesí at 7:05.
Corpus Christi 7, Northwest Arkansas 6

The Hooks coughed up a 5-0 lead... only to regain it in the 5th inning. This game was delayed due to rain, but fortunately, it was completed without further incident.
Ronnie Dawson homered to lead off the bottom of the 1st. Corpus got two more runs in the inning on an Abraham Toro RBI double and he ended up scoring when Josh Rojas grounded into a double play. Dawson struck again in the 2nd when he launched a two-run homer to put the Hooks up 5-0. The Naturals hit back with four in the 3rd and took the lead with two runs in the top of the 5th, but Rojas smacked a two-run homer to put the Hooks back in front. Dawson, Stephen Wrenn, and Aníbal Sierra all finished with two hits on the evening.
Brandon Bailey pitched four innings and the four runs he allowed came on a grand slam hit by Gabriel Cancel in the 3rd inning. He allowed two other hits (both singles), walked one, and struck out seven. Brendan Feldmann was the first man out of the Corpus bullpen and he allowed two runs on an RBI single and a sac fly, walked three, and struck out two in 1.1 innings. Kit Scheetz got the last two outs of the 5th via strikeout. And finally, in his Texas League debut, Carlos Sanabria struck out five over three scoreless innings; one batter was able to reach on an error.
J.B. Bukauskas will take on Connor Greene in the series finale. First pitch is at 6:!5.
Fayetteville 7, Frederick 4

The Woodpeckers jumped out to a 6-0 lead early to earn their first-ever home series win.
Yohan Ramirez went 3.2 innings and allowed a hit, walked two, and struck out four. Leovanny Rodríguez got the final out of the 4th with a strikeout. Shawn Dubin came on for his Carolina League debut and went three innings, allowing four runs on seven hits, walking three, and striking out one. José Bravo struck out one in the final two innings; he didn't allow a hit or issue a walk and the two runners who reached base against him did so via error.
Colton Shaver opened the scoring with an RBI infield single in the 1st inning. Jonathan Arauz ripped an RBI double in the 2nd and Jake Meyers added a sac fly in the 3rd. Fayetteville got three runs in the 4th on a pair of RBI doubles from Seth Beer and Jake Adams and another RBI single from Shaver. After the Keys made a little run to cut the Woodpeckers' lead, Bryan de la Cruz stopped the bleeding with an RBI double in the 8th. He, Beer, and Shaver all finished 2-4 on the evening.
The Woodpeckers will look to sweep a series at SEGRA Stadium for the first time. First pitch is at 7:00 Eastern.
Quad Cities 4, Peoria 1

The Banditos were held to just four hits but they scored more runs than the Chiefs.
Jeremy Peña went 2-4 and opened the scoring with a solo homer in the 1st inning. Trey Dawson also went deep to lead off the 5th. César Salazar hit a couple of sac flies in the 3rd and the 8th.
Nivaldo Rodríguez went five innings and allowed an unearned run on six hits while striking out four. Riley Cabral allowed three hits and struck out three over the final four innings; Peña started a triple play to end the game.
After spending the entire month of April on the road playing "home" games in other teams' parks, the Quad Cities River Bandits will finally have the opportunity to play a home game in their own park. Brett Conine will get the start as the Banditos open up a five-game series against Clinton at 1:00. He'll take on Peyton Culbertson. Saturday features a doubleheader as these two teams are making up a game that was originally scheduled for April 11.
