OF Jackie Brandt (78)
Originally signed by the Cardinals in 1953, Brandt came to Houston in 1967 as the final stop in a 11-year major league career after playing for the Cardinals, Giants, Orioles and Phillies. The one-time Gold Glove and All-Star had a .236/.296/.337 batting line in 41 games for the Astros. It was memories, not numbers, that were really important to him, though. From Baseball-Reference:
The .262 lifetime hitter stated, "I had over 1,000 base hits and 100 home runs in the majors, but my greatest thrills and memories are of the people I was around. Willie Mays and Brooks Robinson were my teammates. When I first came up my locker was right next to Stan Musial's and when Ted Williams homered in his last at-bat , he hit it over my head."
