Brett Wallace has been optioned to Oklahoma City where he will be playing mostly third base. This means five cuts remain to be decided by Wednesday. With the further announcement that Rule 5 pick Marwin Gonzalez is making the roster and the optioning of Brett Wallace, the infield should be more or less set (with the lingering injury to Jed Lowrie being the only remaining factor).
Of the five to be cut, presumably C Landon Powell will be one of them. In the outfield, one out of J.B. Shuck, Justin Ruggiano and Travis Buck will likely be cut (again, the lingering injury to Jordan Schafer being the only remaining factor). And three more pitchers will need to be cut - I think that Abad and Lyles will probably be two of those sent down, but the final decision is complicated by who has options remaining and who doesn't.
