ARIZONA FALL LEAGUE
Mesa over Phoenix 8-3
Mesa made it three in a row with their win over Phoenix. Jio Mier got a start at third base and went 0-for-3 with a walk, but he did score a run and also drove in George Springer with a sac fly. Jon Singleton had DH duties and set the tone early with a two-run bomb in the first inning. He ended the day 1-for-2 with two walks and two RBIs and also scored twice. Springer started in left field and was 2-for-2 with a double, a walk, a stolen bases and a run scored. LHP Alex Sogard earned the win in relief. Despite issuing a couple of singles and a walk, Sogard extricated himself from the situation with a couple of timely strikeouts and allowed no runs across.

VENEZUELAN WINTER LEAGUE
Aragua (1-2) over Caracas (0-3) 4-2
2B Jose Martinez was 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored for Aragua. CF Brandon Barnes was 1-for-4 with an RBI and a strikeout for Caracas.
The Dominican Winter League starts today.
