According to Baseball America, the Astros signed C Jason Jaramillo to a minor league contract. Although Jaramillo has had some major league experience with Pittsburgh in 2009 to 2011, he spent the 2012 season playing exclusively in the minor leagues for Milwaukee and for Oakland. I think this is a good, albeit unspectacular, signing of a solid back-up catcher with major league experience. Since Landon Powell hasn't been re-signed by the Astros, I am assuming that Jaramillo will probably be taking his spot on the AAA roster.
