Roa spent his first professional season with the DSL Astros in 2012. In 33 games, he hit .221/.258/.369 with four doubles, a triple and four home runs. Roa was born and raised in the U.S., but according to this post, he moved to the Dominican Republic to train prior to his signing last summer.
