Spring Training Update

Only four hits mustered against the Nationals on Tuesday to go with three errors committed by the Astros and two caught stealing. This is not what Porter would like to be known as "Bo Ball." The good news is that Lucas Harrell is on track in his Spring Training preparation as he pitched a strong 4-inning start, allowing one run on three hits and a walk with four strikeouts. Jose Altuve provided half of the Astros hits, going 2-for-3 with a double, and drove in the only Astros run.

Spring Training Game 12 Results: Nationals 7, Astros 1
Game 12 Minor League Standouts: No real standouts, but LHP Brett Oberholtzer had one good inning of work before allowing two walks in his second frame. Oberholtzer needs to show command and consistency in order to stand out from the crowd of starting pitchers in camp.

The Astros have a much-needed day off on Wednesday, but will have the chance to redeem themselves against Washington on Thursday. According to a tweet from Bill Brown, Alan Ashby and Geoff Blum will be handling the Spring Training TV broadcasts from this point forward. If you're one of the lucky 40-percenters who get CSN, you'll have to let me how Blum does. I have a feeling he will be a terrific addition to the broadcast booth.
