Quad Cities Playoffs - Game 3 Preview

The Astros minor league affiliates have played 30 postseason games and have come away with one League Championship so far (for the Tri-City ValleyCats). The season is now coming to an end as Quad Cities is the final Astros team with the opportunity to win the grand prize. Their season will be over sometime between tonight and Monday. I hope it's tonight. For a full list of all postseason results for all of the Astros affiliates, go here.

With a 2-0 lead in the Midwest League Championship Series, Quad Cities takes on South Bend at home tonight starting at 7:00 CST. Josh Hader will get the start for Quad Cities. He has a 5-6 record with a 2.77 ERA and a 1.258 WHIP in 22 starts during the regular season. In the postseason, he is 1-0 with a 1.29 ERA and a 0.571 WHIP in his one start. Aaron Blair will be taking the mound for South Bend. He is 1-3 in the regular season with a 3.14 ERA and a 1.253 WHIP in 11 starts. In the postseason, he is 2-0 with a 3.09 ERA and a 1.200 WHIP in two starts. (Blair was originally drafted by the Astros in the 21st round in 2010 but did not sign. He was drafted by the Diamondbacks in the 1st round -- 36th overall -- in 2013.) Audio streaming for the game will be available here.
