Astros Minor League Roster Moves/Transactions
According to Baseball America's Minor League Transaction Report, LHP Carlos Vazquez has been outrighted to the Mexican League. Vazquez was picked up in the minor league phase of the November Rule 5 Draft. Unlike the major league phase of the draft, in which the player must be kept on the 40-man roster for the season or offered back to the team from which he was claimed, teams are free to do whatever they wish with players picked in the minor league phase of the draft. I did not, however, know that you could outright a player to another country! Live and learn.

what would be the reason he would be outrighted so quickly?
ReplyDeleteI have no idea. I thought the whole thing was rather curious! If I find out anything else, I'll post it because there has to be more to this story than we know.
