In his fifth season managing in the Astros system (and his first season with Quad Cities), Lopez guided the full season A Level Quad Cities team to an 81-57 record and the Midwest League Championship.

SS Luis Rivera (50)
Rivera signed as a free agent with Houston in January 1997 and played in only seven games for the Astros that year, hitting .231/.286/.385. He played the bulk of his career prior to that for Montreal and Boston. After his playing days, he went on to manage in the minor leagues for the Cleveland organization before becoming a member of the Indians major league coaching staff. In 2010, he joined the Blue Jays organization and most recently served as third base coach for that organization.
