No future Astros are celebrating, but three former Astros have birthdays today ~
RHP Casey Daigle (33)
A first round draft pick by Arizona in 1999, Daigle came to Houston as a free agent. In 13 games pitched for Houston in 2010, he was 1-1 with a less than desirable ERA and WHIP. He last pitched for the Giants' AAA team in 2011. He is married to softball star Jennie Finch.
CF Gary Geiger (died April 24, 1996 at 59)
Originally signed as a pitcher and subsequently converted, Geiger found his stride at the plate in 1960, hitting .302/.369/.490 through 77 games. Unfortunately, a collapsed lung sidelined him for the remainder of that season and he never found that degree of success again. Geiger played in 98 games for Houston in 1969 and 1970 at the end of his major league career.
LHP Joe Gibbon (79)
Gibbon pitched in parts of 13 seasons for four teams. He was a part of the World Series champion Pirates in his rookie season in 1960. He only pitched 7.1 innings in 9 games for Houston at the end of his career in 1972 and was unable to recreate his earlier effectiveness. For his career, he had a 3.52 ERA and a 1.310 WHIP.
