Beat the Streak, May 11

Ha. And just like that, my streak went kaput. Tyler White, my pick for yesterday, saw his 5-game hitting streak come to an end. He did score a run, though.

Yesterday turned out to be a great night for Lancaster players...

Daniel Nelson and Baseball Mom were the beneficiaries of Tony Kemp's rampage through the High Desert pitching staff last night. Mr. Nelson is still the king of the mountain, with a 6-game streak. Baseball Mom's streak is now at 2 games.

pacbellpilgrim got a 5-hit night from Carlos Correa and a day off from Rio Ruiz. Jayne saw James Ramsay reach base in all of his plate appearances while Rio got the night off. I recently emailed MLB.com about this conundrum, and they say a streak ends when this occurs. Sorry, guys!

Rip Noblin got half of a double-down for the 3rd or 4th time in the last week. Conrad Gregor was 2-3 with a double and an RBI single, but Ronnie Mitchell went 0-4.

I also somehow forgot to mention that Matt Naber of House of Houston is on a modest 3-game streak; he chose Andrew Aplin on Thursday, Rio on Friday, and Jon Singleton yesterday.

Today, I'll be rolling with Teoscar Hernandez and Austin Wates.

  3. Kemp would have been my pick for today if I wasn't battling my oil filter on my Escape. Why are the auto companies making it nearly impossible for individuals to change their own oil. I have never taken close to 3 hours to change my oil..
