No future Astros with birthdays today, but a couple of former Astros are celebrating ~
C Alan Knicely (59)
Drafted by Houston in the third round in 1974, Knicely was mostly used as a backup catcher and pinch hitter throughout his career. He played in only 11 games for Houston between 1979 and 1981, and then got into 59 games for Houston in 1982.
1B Alan Zinter (46)
A first round draft pick by the Mets in 1989, Zinter only played in 67 games in the major leagues, 39 of them for Houston in 2002. He is currently a minor league hitting coordinator for the Cleveland Indians.
