A non-drafted free agent signing out of the Dominican Republic, Fernandez split his 2013 season between the GCL and Tri-City, hitting a combined .236/.299/.360 in 23 games before being suspended after testing positive for amphetamines. Fernandez is currently on the restricted list. The story is here (but his stats in the story are totally incorrect).
