Oklahoma City 5, Las Vegas 1

W- Nick Tropeano (5-4)
L- Noah Syndergaard (5-4)

OKC home runs: Gregorio Petit (8, Solo home run in the 3rd)

A pitching clinic from Nick Tropeano and big nights from Kike Hernandez and Ronald Torreyes helped the 'Hawks take the series 3-1.

Nick Tropeano didn't allow a baserunner until the fourth inning, and by that time a Gregorio Petit solo home run and a Kike Hernandez RBI single scoring Ronny Torreyes had given Oklahoma City all the runs that he needed. Tropeano ended his night with seven shutout innings, allowing only two hits and a walk while striking out six. The bullpen, in the guise of Alex White and Kevin Chapman, combined to allow one run on three hits and a walk in their two innings. Both Hernandez and Torreyes collected four hits, and a double and RBI each. Max Stassi doubled as well.

The RedHawks now journey to Reno for a 4-game series with Rudy Owens scheduled to take on TBD. First pitch is at 9:05 CST.

San Antonio 1, Corpus Christi 0

W- Matt Branham (5-2)
L- Mike Hauschild (1-2)
S- Frank Garces (3)

CC home runs: None

The Hooks continue to struggle and Mike Hauschild gets the hard luck loss.

Mike Hauschild only gave up one single and one walk through his first five innings. Three more singles in the sixth allowed San Antonio to score their one run and Hauschild was done for the night. Michael Dimock and Patrick Urckfitz each pitched a perfect inning to give the Hooks offense a chance, but they were held to five singles (two for M.P. Cokinos) and two walks and ended up on the wrong end of a shutout.

In game 3 of this series, Luis Cruz will face James Needy 7:05 CST.

Lancaster is on All-Star Break

The California League/Carolina League All-Star game will be held tonight at 6:05 EST. Tony Kemp, Teoscar Hernandez, Josh Hader, Roberto Pena and Carlos Correa represent the JetHawks.

Quad Cities is on All-Star Break

The Midwest League All-Star game will be held tonight at 6:00 CST and will be available for viewing on MiLB.tv. Brett Phillips, Chan-Jong Moon and Tyler Brunnemann represent the River Bandits.

Tri-City 4, Lowell 3

W- Raul Rivera (1-0)
L- Ellis Jimenez (0-1)

TC home runs: None

Tri-City is assured of a split in the two-game series as they win this one unconventionally.

Troy Scribner had an excellent four-inning start in which he allowed only two hits while striking out eight batters. He was followed by Randall Fant who got into a little bit of trouble in his second inning of work and was charged with the three Lowell runs (one inherited runner scored on Jordan Mills watch). Jordan Mills and Raul Rivera were able to hold things right there for the final three innings, allowing Tri-City (down 3-1 at the time) the opportunity to come from behind and win it.

The 'Cats scored their first run in the fifth on an Alex Hernandez RBI single, added another in the sixth as J.D. Davis scored from third on a wild pitch and tied it in the eighth as A.J. Reed walked, stole a base, advanced on a sac bunt and scored on a sac fly. Ravel Santana broke the tie in the bottom of the ninth with a bases loaded walk. Yep, a walk-off walk.

The ValleyCats were held to six hits, but walked nine times. Ariel Ovando was 2-for-4 with a double and Nick Tanielu had the only other extra base hit of the game, also a double.

In an early one, Tri-City's Francis Ramirez will face Lowell's Dioscar Romero at 9:00 a.m. CST.

DSL Astros Orange 12, DSL Marlins 9 in 18 innings

W- Jesus Bermejo (1-0)
L- Eddy Gonzalez (0-3)
S- Luis Vasquez (1)

DSL Orange home runs: None

In a 6:32 minute marathon, the Orange team finally prevailed with position players getting the win and the save.

The Orange team took an early lead, scoring four in the third and two more in the fourth. They added on two more in the sixth which gave them a 8-1 lead at the time.

Starter Edwin Villarroel pitched the first five, allowing only one run on two hits and three walks. Things got a little bit out of hand for Edgardo Sandoval in the seventh and an error and a passed ball didn't exactly help him. He ended up charged with five runs (two earned) in his one and two-thirds innings. Jose Ramos was charged with the blown save as he gave up two runs to tie it up in the eighth.

And that's where it stood for nine innings. The two teams combined to use 16 pitchers in the game. In the bottom of the 17th inning, 1B Jesus Bermejo came in to pitch for the Orange team and got two fly outs and a line out to work around a hit batter. In the top of the 18th, Vicente Sanchez broke a 0-for-7 drought with his 2-run triple. Luis Vasquez then singled in Sanchez and later scored in the inning on a wild pitch. Bermejo came in to pitch in the 18th and promptly walked two batters and was replaced by the same Luis Vasquez (the right fielder) who had just singled and scored in the top of the frame. Vasquez allowed one of Bermejo's runners to score, but worked around a single and a walk to retire the side. Wow.

Wilson Amador went 4-for-7 with a double and drove in four. Andy Pineda was 3-for-7 and scored three times.

DSL Royals 5, DSL Astros Blue 3 in 10 innings

W- Yeison Mateo (1-1)
L- Josue Uribe (1-1)

DSL Blue home runs: None

The Blue team got in front early, with Marcos Almonte and Jonathan Matute scoring on a pair of ground outs in the first and added on another in the fourth as Joan Mauricio scored from third on a wild pitch, but that was pretty much it as the team was held to one Oliver Toribio single (they did walk 10 times though).

Moreno Polanco (2IP 2H 0R 0BB 3SO) and Salvador Montano (4IP 3H 0R 1BB 3SO) gave the team six very solid innings. Ezequial Madera allowed two unearned runs across in the seventh and Lachlan Madden gave up the tying run in the nine for his first blown save of the season. Josue Uribe allowed the final two runs across in the top of the 10th.
