Lake Elsinore 11, Lancaster 2
W- Coby Cowgill (1-0, 3-2 season)
L- Mark Appel (0-3)
Lancaster home runs: None.
The JetHawks had to settle for the split as the wheels fell off for them late in this game.
Mark Appel went 5 innings and allowed 4 runs (3 earned) on 6 hits (2-run homer) and struck out 2. Brian Holmes threw a scoreless 6th and a scoreless 7th and got 2 outs in the 8th, but that's where everything went wrong. The Storm got 7 runs off of him in the inning; one was an inherited runner that was charged to him, and only one of those 7 runs was earned. He allowed 7 hits and struck out 2 in 2.2 innings. Pat Christensen, in his JetHawks debut, got the final out of the 8th via strikeout, but he did allow the runner that he inherited from Holmes to score. Christensen allowed a hit and a walk.
Jack Mayfield hit an RBI double in the 2nd and Tony Kemp scored on an error in the 3rd. Teoscar Hernandez went 2-4 with 2 doubles and a steal (23). Conrad Gregor extended his hitting streak to 10 games and also had a stolen base (1). He's played 21 games with the JetHawks and in 18 of those 21, he's recorded a hit. Kemp also stole a base, giving him 28 on the year.

Greeneville 4, Princeton 3 in 10 innings
W- Zach Davis (1-0)
L- Kyle McKenzie (0-1)
Greeneville home runs: None.
The Appy Astros walked off with the win in the series opener as Princeton catcher Taylor Hawkins threw away strike 3, which would have sent the game to the 11th inning.
Greeneville got on the board first in the 1st as Trent Woodward reached on an error which allowed Jason Martin to score. Martin led off the inning with a triple. They tied the game with a pair in the 8th; Woodward scored on a pop fly from Connor Goedert that was caught in foul territory, and Luis Reynoso hit an RBI single. Ramon Laureano struck out on a ball in the dirt, but Hawkins couldn't complete the strikeout, and Antonio Nuñez dashed home with the winning run. Woodward went 3-5, while Reynoso and Laureano had 2 hits apiece.
Jose Montero pitched 5 innings and allowed 2 runs on 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7. Agapito Barrios allowed a run on 5 hits and struck out 6 in 4 innings, and Zach Davis got the win in his professional debut; he worked around a hit and a walk to strike out the side in the 10th.
In the middle game of this series, TBA will take on Trevor Lubking. First pitch is at 6:00. Agapito Barrios is listed as the starter, but since he pitched 4 innings last night.... that probably isn't going to happen.
The GCL and DSL Astros were off
Which is customary for every Sunday.
