In addition to the promotion of OF Preston Tucker from Corpus Christi to Oklahoma City being made official yesterday, the Astros also announced the trade of another RedHawks outfielder to make room for Tucker.
OF Adron Chambers was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays for a pair of Gulf Coast League players. LHP Alejandro Solarte (19), a native of Venezuela, was 1-1 with a 2.96 ERA and a 1.356 WHIP in nine games (three starts) for the GCL Blue Jays in 2013. 2B Will Dupont (20) was drafted by the Blue Jays in the 16th round in 2012 out of Lafayette HS in Wildwood, Missouri. In 26 games for their GCL team in 2013, he hit .262/.338/.311. They will report to the GCL Astros team.
Additionally, The Astros have not announced the official opening day roster for the Tri-City ValleyCats who start play tonight. When that information is available, I will try to post it as soon as I can.
Who is filling Tuck's spot? I have a suggestion.
