Oklahoma City 7, Colorado Springs 3
W- Alex White (2-4)
L- Dan Houston (2-4)
S- Jason Stoffel (10)
OKC home runs: None.
The RedHawks earned the sweep as they dug themselves out of a 3-0 hole after a half-inning, hitting back with 5 of their own in the bottom of the 1st.
Alex White got roughed up in that 1st inning, but he rebounded to throw a quality start, even if it was of the bare minimum variety (6 IP, 3 ER). He allowed 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. Tommy Shirley tagged in for 1.2 scoreless innings, allowing 2 hits, walking 1, and striking out 2. Jason Stoffel came on and got the save. He allowed a hit and all 4 of his outs were strikeouts.
Jonathan Villar walked to lead off the 1st, advanced to 3rd on a Joe Sclafani double, and scored the first OKC run on a wild pitch. Sclafani wound up moving to 3rd, and Preston Tucker, who walked, advanced to 2nd. Matt Duffy, who was at the plate at the time, tied the game with a 2-run single. An Andrew Aplin walk brought up Carlos Perez, who ripped a 2-run double to give the RedHawks the lead. In the 3rd, Ruben Sosa hit an RBI single that scored Duffy. He got caught stealing 2nd, but Perez took advantage of the Sky Sox having all of their attention focused on Sosa and scored on the play. Perez went 2-4 with a stolen base (3), while Duffy scored 2 runs.
The RedHawks have today off, but tomorrow, they'll begin what will likely be the biggest series of their season: 5 games at home with the division leaders, Iowa.

The JetHawks came close with their rally, but no cigar.

Moon grounded into a force out that scored Jack Mayfield, and Roberto Peña hit a 2-run single. However, he and Jon Kemmer were stranded in scoring position to end the threat. Mayfield was stranded at 2nd to end the game. He finished 2-4.
Kyle Westwood allowed 5 runs (4 earned) on 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 2 in 5 innings of work. Lance McCullers is looking to rebound from a rough July. This was a good starting point; he allowed 1 hit and struck out 4 over 3 scoreless.
