Happy Birthday to ~
Lancaster Pitching Coach Don Alexander (56)
Alexander is one of the longest tenured coaches in the Astros system and has had the unenviable task for five of the last six seasons of mentoring young pitchers in one of the most hitter-friendly minor league ballparks in the country. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. In 2014, the JetHawks won their second California League Championship in the last three years.
Two former Astros celebrate the day as well ~
C Chris Tremie (45)
Originally drafted by the White Sox in the 39th round in 1992, Tremie signed as a free agent with the Astros in 2000 and toiled for four seasons in the Astros minor league system before getting into one game in September 2004. A late inning defensive replacement, he didn't get an at-bat with the Astros.
IF Edwin Maysonet (33)
Drafted by Houston in the 9th round in 2003, Maysonet played in a total of 46 games for the Astros in 2008 and 2009, hitting .276/.317/.342. He played for the Somerset Patriots in the independent Atlantic League in 2014.
