Los Senadores got their first win of the season in a wild tilt. Carolina threatened to tie the game in the late stages, but their bid was denied.

For Carolina, Carlos Corporán went 1-5. René Garcia went 1-3 with a walk and 2 runs scored, and after he entered as a pinch-hitter for Garcia, Jobduan Morales hit an RBI single in the top of the 9th to make it a 1-run game.

Raul Rivera pitched 3 innings and struck out 1. Technically, he had a perfect line, but he also allowed one of the 2 runners (Fontana scored the run) he inherited from Jim Patterson in the 4th to score on a double play.

Tonight, San Juan will travel to Mayagüez, while Carolina will be back in action tomorrow as they host Caguas. Both games will be at 7:30 Atlantic.
