No future Astros with birthdays today, but two former Astros celebrate the day ~
RHP Dave Eilers (78)
Drafted by Houston from the Mets in the 1966 minor league draft, Eilers pitched for the Astros in 1967 going 6-4 with a 3.94 ERA and a 1.433 WHIP in 35 appearances.
RHP Jerry Johnson (71)
Johnson first came to Houston in a November 1973 trade with Houston and pitched in 34 games for the Astros in 1974 with a 4.80 ERA and a 1.578 WHIP. His best season was for the Giants in 1971 when he was 12-9 with a 2.97 ERA and a 1.294 WHIP in 67 appearances.
