LIDOM

Wednesday: Estrellas 2, Águilas 1 in 10 innings

Jonathan Villar went 0-3 with a strikeout for Águilas, who dropped into a tie for 2nd with Estrellas.

Tonight, Águilas will host their bitter rivals, Gigantes. First pitch is at 7:30 Atlantic.

Results from Tuesday

Santurce 4, Caguas 2

Caguas put up 2 in the bottom of the 4th to tie, but it would be short-lived as Santurce scored 1 in the 5th and added an insurance run in the 9th. Ruben Sosa hit a double in 4 at-bats and scored a run for the Cangrejeros.

Roberto Peña entered the game as a defensive sub for Caguas in the 5th and finished the game, going 1-2 at the plate.

Mayagüez 5, Carolina 3

Mayagüez scored their 5 runs in the final 3 innings of the game, culminating with a 2-run top of the 9th to give them the lead. Carlos Corporán got the start behind the plate for Carolina and finished 2-3 with a solo homer in the 5th inning, his 1st of the round-robin phase. Jobduan Morales grounded out as a pinch-hitter in the 9th.

Wednesday: Carolina 1, Santurce 0

Corporán and Morales (the DH) both went 0-3; Morales struck out twice. Carolina dealt Santurce their first loss of the round-robin.

After an off day today, these two teams will meet again on Friday; Carolina is hosting. In the other matchup, Caguas will travel to Mayagüez that evening.

PROBEIS PANAMA

Tuesday: Indios 4, Caballos 0

Rodrigo Ayarza got the start in right field for Indios and went 2-4 with a double, an RBI, and a run scored. Jose Montero worked around a hit to throw a scoreless 8th.

For Caballos, Jack Mayfield and Telvin Nash both went 1-3, while Tyler White finished 1-4.

Wednesday: Indios 1, Caballos 0

It's been a tough stretch as of late for Caballos; they've been shut out in 3 of their last 4 games, with a 9-8 win over Industriales sandwiched in between. Mayfield finished 0-3 with a walk and 2 strikeouts, White was 1-2 with a couple of walks, and Nash went 0-4 with a hat trick. Ayarza went 1-3 and scored the only rnn of the game in the 8th on a single from Luis Barahona.

Tonight, Caballos will take on Águilas, while Indios will square off against Industriales. Both games will take place at 7:00 Eastern.
