No future Astros with birthdays today, but two former Astros celebrate the day ~
RHP Jim Owens (81)
Drafted by Houston from the Reds in the 1963 Rule 5 draft, Owens pitched in 148 games for the Colt .45's and the Astros from 1964 to 1967 with an ERA of 3.60 and WHIP of 1.296.
LHP Ron Villone (45)
A first round pick by Seattle in 1992, Villone first came to Houston in a June 2001 trade with Colorado. In 50 games (25 starts) for the Astros in 2001 and 2003, he was 11-13 with a 4.69 ERA and a 1.374 WHIP. All told, he pitched in 15 major league seasons for 12 different teams. In 2014, he was the Pitching Coach for the Cubs Advanced A affiliate.
