Their only 2 runs came in the 7th as Nolan Fontana scored on a wild pitch and Tony Kemp added a sac fly. Fontana, L.J. Hoes, and Alex Presley had 2 hits apiece. Presley's double was Fresno's only extra-base hit.

The ValleyCats offense couldn't get much of anything going as they were held to 3 hits.

Elieser Hernandez went 5 innings and allowed 3 runs on 6 hits and struck out 6. Rogelio Armenteros allowed 3 runs on 4 hits and fanned 2 over 2 innings, and in his pro debut, David Schmidt allowed a run on 2 hits in the 8th. Schmidt was an undrafted free agent out of Stanford.
