Astros Minor League Snapshot: Dominican Summer League Astros

The Astros have two teams in the Dominican Summer League, the Blue team and the Orange team. The Blue team is doing exceptionally well since their season started on the last day of May. The Orange team, not so much.

Here is how the two teams stack up against other teams in the league in various categories ...

ASTROS BLUE TEAM

The Blue team is currently in first place in the 6-team Boca Chica Northwest Division, leading the second place Phillies by 5 games. Their 22-8 record is in a 3-way tie for second best record in the League, with the Rangers North Division team leading the way with a 25-6 record.

Since there are so many players and so many teams, I'm going to include any player with stats in the top 30 in a given category as a "league leader"

RHP Diogenes Almengo did not have enough innings to qualify, but his 0.51 ERA and 1.075 WHIP over 17.2 innings earned him a promotion to the GCL.

ASTROS ORANGE TEAM

The Orange team is at the other end of the spectrum, in sixth place in the 6-team Boca Chica North Division, 17 games behind the Rangers. Their 8-23 record is the worst in the league. As you can see below, although they don't have the strongest offense, the pitching is more the culprit when it comes to the Orange team's lackluster results.
