Reed had an incredible month, putting up video game numbers: .434/.529/.677 in 25 games. He ended the month with four doubles, one triple, six home runs, and THIRTY(!) RBI. He walked 19 times while whiffing 17 times.
Earning honorable mention were Tony Kemp (Corpus Christi/Fresno), L.J. Hoes (Fresno), Chase McDonald (Lancaster), and Jon Kemmer (Corpus Christi).
PITCHER OF THE MONTH
RHP Francis Martes (Quad Cities)
This was EXTREMELY difficult this month. There were many strong performances, but I ultimately went with Francis Martes. Martes was 1-2 with one save in four games (three starts) for the River Bandits. He ended the month wih a 1.23 ERA and a 0.818 WHIP in 22 innings of work. Martes walked four and struck out 16 while holding batters to a .182/.217/.260 slashline.

RELIEF PITCHER OF THE MONTH
I could have gone a number of different directions with this award, but what decided me on Heredia was his very gutsy 4-inning relief appearance on June 29th. Heredia kept them in the game with his four no-hit innings and the River Bandits ultimately won the game in the 12th inning. Heredia ended June with a 1-1 record with two saves, a 1.38 ERA, and a 0.886 WHIP in seven appearances (13 innings). He walked six while striking out 17 and held the opposing batters to a very stingy .111/.231/.178 batting line.

CATCHER OF THE MONTH
Alfredo Gonzalez (Lancaster)
Gonzalez earned this week's promotion to Corpus Christi by looking great both at the plate and behind it. In June, he hit .404/.458/.423 with one double, seven RBI, six walks and 10 strikeouts in 14 games. He even accomplished something you don't often see from catchers; he swiped three bases! For the season, he has a 56% caught stealing rate.
