The Grizzlies had the day off as they traveled back to Fresno yesterday. Game 3 of the tied series will take place tonight at 9:05 CST with LHP Brett Oberholtzer scheduled to take the mound for the Grizzlies. But first, some birthdays, a little news and a notable passing.
Wishing a Very Happy Birthday to ...
1B Jon Singleton (24)
Singleton was born September 18, 1991 in Harbor City, California, and was drafted by the Phillies in the 8th round in 2009 out of Millikan High School in Long Beach, California. He came to the Astros organization in the July 2011 Hunter Pence trade and has spent the majority of the 2015 season with the AAA Fresno Grizzlies.
RHP Juan Minaya (25)
Minaya was born September 18, 1990 in Maimon, Dominican Republic and signed with the Astros in September 2008. Minaya pitched for the AA Corpus Christi Hooks for most of the season prior to a late August promotion to the AAA Fresno Grizzlies.

In addition to RHP Chris Devenski being named the Hooks Pitcher of the Year on Wednesday, the Hooks named OF Jon Kemmer the Hooks Player of the Year on Thursday.
