8-11: LHP Kevin Chapman will be called up to Houston from Fresno as the 26th man for today's double-header with the Twins
8-10: OF Carlos Gomez designated for assignment
8-10: RHP Jandel Gustave called up to Houston from Fresno
8-10: LHP Salvador Montano assigned from Greeneville to Tri-City
8-8: IF Yulieski Gurriel assigned from Lancaster to Corpus Christi
Also, RHP Agapito Barrios finished his rehab assignment and was activated from the DL by the Quad Cities River Bandits on 8/6. This was posted late and wasn't included on my roster moves post from earlier this week.
RANDOM FORMER ASTROS FARMHAND UPDATE
RHP Harold Arauz was included in the December 2015 trade with the Phillies that brought Ken Giles to the Astros. Arauz, who played for the Astros short season A Tri-City team in 2015, was assigned by the Phillies organization to play for the full season Low A Lakewood BlueClaws in the Sally League where he put up 13 starts before going on the DL in late June. Arauz was recently activated from the DL after going on a rehab assignment and has a 3-5 record, a 3.89 ERA and a 1.154 WHIP in 14 starts for the BlueClaws. He has walked 21 and struck out 62 in 69.1 innings.
Why has Jon Kemmer not been brought up to the majors? They could use his bat!!!
