Astros Farm Report: 9-6

Later on this morning, Dustin will post the recaps for the last day of the regular season. When all is said and done, he will have written full game stories for 893 games (plus a handful of All-Star Games). The regular season is over and playoffs start tomorrow for Lancaster and Corpus Christi.

The Hooks ended the season in style with a sweep over San Antonio that allowed them to claim second place in the second half. Now on to the playoffs! Corpus Christi will host Midland (A's) for Games 1 and 2 of the South Division Playoff Series on Wednesday and Thursday. Games 3, 4 and 5 (if all are necessary) will be played in Midland from Friday, September 9th through Sunday, September 11th. Midland leads the season series 18-14, but the Hooks took three of four in their most recent matchup. The winner of the South Division series will face the winner of the North Division series, either the Northwest Arkansas Naturals (Royals) or the Springfield Cardinals.

The JetHawks not only clinched a playoff berth a couple days ago, they also clinched the second half title for their division. They will face Wild Card Rancho Cucamonga (Dodgers) in a best-of-three mini-series starting Wednesday in Rancho Cucamonga. Games 2 and 3 (if necessary) will be at home at The Hangar. The season series between the two teams is dead even. The winner of the mini-series will face first half winner High Desert (Rangers) starting Saturday in Adelanto for a best-of-five South Division playoff series.
