One team having a day off and another team being unable to play yet again resulted in a light slate on the farm.

Buies Creek sweep!



Las Vegas 2, Fresno 1

Fresno home runs: Tyler White (5, solo in 6th)

The Grizzlies held the 51s to one hit... and lost.

Tyler White's solo home run in the 6th represented the lone Fresno run. Drew Ferguson singled to extend his hitting streak to 11 games.

Cy Sneed walked 4 and struck out 7 over 6 shutout innings. Reymin Guduan pitched the final two innings and allowed the one hit... a two-run home run hit by Bryce Brentz. Guduan also issued a walk and struck out 4.

Rogelio Armenteros will start game 3 of this series. He'll face Corey Oswalt at 7:05 Pacific.

Corpus Christi was off

The Hooks will start a four-game series in Frisco tonight at 7:05. Brock Dykxhoorn will face Collin Wiles.

BC home runs: Aníbal Sierra (2, 2-run in 2nd), Luis Payano (1, solo in 6th)

The Carolina Stros rattled off 7 runs in the 2nd to cruise to a sweep. In this current five-game winning streak, they've shut out their opponent four times.

Osvaldo Duarte reached on an error with one out in the 2nd inning and advanced to third on a Chas McCormick double. One batter later, Luis Payano opened the scoring with an RBI single and McCormick also scored thanks to an error on the play. Carlos Canelón followed with a single, and Aníbal Sierra launched a three-run homer to blow this game open. Two batters later, Ronnie Dawson drew a walk, stole his way to third, and scored on an Abraham Toro single. Troy Sieber brought Toro home with an RBI double, although he was thrown out at third to end the inning. Sierra doubled with one out in the 4th and came home on a Josh Rojas single. Luis Payano capped off the night with a solo shot in the 6th, his first home run of the season.

McCormick (2B, R), Payano (solo HR, 2 RBI, 2 R), Canelón (2B, R), and Sierra (2B, 3-R HR, 2 R) all finished 2-4 on the night.

Brandon Bielak and Justin Ferrell combined on a four-hit shutout. Bielak allowed 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5 in 5.2 innings, while Ferrell allowed a hit and fanned 6 over the last 3.1 innings to complete the shutout.

Brandon Bailey will start the first of a four-game series against the Carolina Mudcats. He'll take on Cameron Roegner at 7:00 Eastern.

Quad Cities and Peoria was postponed

Due to inclement weather. This game will be made up at a later date, presumably when the Chiefs return to the Quad Cities May 25-28.

These two teams will wrap up this series at 6:35, weather permitting.

The Banditos have been postponed for the fifth time this season. The April 8 game in Cedar Rapids that was postponed will be made up on May 16.
