Fresno and Albuquerque was suspended

Due to severe weather. Fresno was trailing 4-0 in the top of the 4th; there were two outs. This game will resume during the Grizzlies' next visit to New Mexico, which will occur from July 20-22.

The Grizzlies have Monday off. In fact, everyone except the Dominican Summer League will have Monday off. They'll welcome Colorado Springs to the Central Valley for a three-game series beginning Tuesday.

Tulsa 13, Corpus Christi 1

W- Justin DeFratus (2-1)
L- Ryan Hartman (4-2)

CC home runs: Randy César (8, solo in 7th)

The Hooks had ten hits but only had one run to show for it.

Randy César's solo homer in the 7th was Corpus Christi's only scoring play and also extended his hitting streak to 26 games. Taylor Jones, Stephen Wrenn, and Alex De Goti all finished with two hits on the day. Josh Reddick went 1-4 in the first game of his rehab assignment.

Ryan Hartman got knocked around in his 2.2 innings... and I'll leave it at that. Justin Ferrell was one of the few bright spots on an otherwise tough Sunday afternoon as he walked one and struck out five over 2.1 hitless and scoreless innings. Carlos Hiraldo, Erasmo Pinales, and Carlos Sierra all pitched one inning apiece. Hiraldo allowed three runs (one earned) on two hits (solo homer), walked one, and struck out one in the 6th. Pinales allowed a run on two hits in the 7th, and the two runs that Sierra allowed in the 8th came on a homer hit by Tyler Colvin. He allowed one other hit, walked one, and struck out one.

The Lone Star Series in the Texas League kicks off again on Tuesday. Corbin Martin is scheduled to take on Pedro Payano in the series opener at Whataburger Field.

Buies Creek 4, Potomac 3

W- Gabriel Valdez (2-2)
L- Joan Baez (2-4)
S- Brandon Bielak (2)

BC home runs: None.

Both of the Carolina Stros' wins in this series came in one-run games.

The three runs that Gabriel Valdez allowed in his five innings came on a home run hit by Carter Kieboom in the 3rd inning; all of the runs were unearned. Valdez allowed one other hit and struck out four. Brandon Bielak turned in four scoreless innings to earn the save, allowing two hits, walking one, and striking out six.

Luis Payano opened the scoring with an RBI single in the 2nd... and then he got caught stealing second base. Chas McCormick doubled to lead off the bottom of the 4th and scored on a J.J. Matijevic groundout. Alfredo Angarita hit a two-run single in the 5th that turned out to be the difference in this one. Payano finished 2-2 on the day.

Buies Creek returns to action on Tuesday when they welcome Myrtle Beach to Campbell University for a three-game series.

Quad Cities 11, Beloit 7

W- Patrick Sandoval (5-1)
L- Nick Highberger (1-1)
S- Carlos Sanabria (5)

QC home runs: Adrian Tovalin (3, 3-run in 4th)

The Banditos trailed 6-0 after 2.5 innings, but they finished the game on an 11-1 run in order to take the series.

César Rosado went two innings and allowed three runs on five hits, walked three, and struck out one. Brendan Feldmann came on for the 3rd and allowed three runs on two hits, walked two, and struck out one. Patrick Sandoval restored a little bit of order as he allowed an unearned run on seven hits and struck out two in four innings. Carlos Sanabria walked two and struck out two over the last two innings to get a save.

Bryan de la Cruz led off the 3rd with an infield single and scored Quad Cities' first run of the day on an Adrian Tovalin double. Miguelangel Sierra hit a double with one out in the 4th and came home on a Jake Adams single. De La Cruz walked with two outs in the inning and Tovalin struck again by launching a three-run homer. Quad Cities finally took control with a six-run 7th.

Tovalin and Mike Papierski led it off with singles. Jake Meyers walked to load the bases for Jonathan Arauz, who walked Tovalin in for another run. Corey Julks walked Papierski in to tie the game at 7. Meyers was forced out at home, but Adams ripped a two-run double to put the Banditos in front. Sierra scored on a wild pitch and Roman Garcia followed with an RBI single.

Adams and Tovalin both finished 3-4 on the day and they both scored twice. De La Cruz went 2-3 and also scored two runs. Sierra had a double in four trips to the plate and also scored twice.

Quad Cities will start a three-game series in Wisconsin on Tuesday.
