4/5: RHP Matt Ruppenthal assigned to Quad Cities (starting the season on the 7-day DL; according to Instagram, Ruppenthal had elbow surgery to transpose the ulnar nerve in early April and started to throw mid-June)

ASTROS MILB RESTRICTED LIST

6/22: RHP Yoanys Quiala placed on the restricted list (80 game suspension for performance-enhancing substance); Quiala won't be eligible to play again until approximately mid-April of 2019.

MISSING IN ACTION

Now that all of the short season teams have started playing, I've gone through my records and the following players all show as "active" on MiLB, but they haven't played yet this season. If anyone has any info on the following players, please let me know.

LHP Javier Navas - made his first appearance of the season for the GCL team 7/16, released 7/17
RHP Kyle Serrano - made his first appearance of the season for the GCL team 7/6

FRESNO (Pacific Coast League)

The Grizzlies currently lead Reno by seven games in the PCL Pacific Northern division. Fresno has 19 games remaining in the season, none of those against Reno.

CORPUS CHRISTI (Texas League)

The Hooks have made the playoffs as the first half winners of the Texas League South Division. They currently have a two-game lead over Frisco in the second half with 20 games left to play in the regular season.

BUIES CREEK (Carolina League)

Buies Creek trails the 1st place Winston-Salem team by 2 games with 19 games left to play. The Astros will host Winston-Salem for six of those games.

QUAD CITIES (Midwest League)

The River Bandits have made the playoffs as the first half winners of the Midwest League Western Division. They currently trail Peoria and Cedar Rapids by three games and Beloit by a half game in the second half with 20 games left to play.

TRI-CITY (New York-Penn League)

Tri-City leads Lowell by two-and-a-half games in the New York-Penn League Stedler division with 20 games left to play. The ValleyCats will face Lowell on the road in six of those games.

GCL ASTROS (Gulf Coast League)

With nine games remaining in the season, the Astros trail the Cardinals. Their elimination number is currently 4.

DSL ASTROS (Dominican Summer League Northwest)

With 11 games remaining in their season, the DSL team has been eliminated from the postseason.
