Drafted in the 18th round out of Mercyhurst College (PA) in 2016, RHP Colin McKee is on a nice roll in his position as late inning relief for the Corpus Christi Hooks this season. Through 17 appearances, McKee is 2-1 with five saves, a 1.59 ERA, a 1.059 WHIP and is holding batters to a .135 average. He has allowed only one earned run since April 28th and ZERO earned runs in his last eight outings. Watch this space ...
FORMER ASTRO UPDATE
2B Ryne Birk was drafted by the Astros in the 13th round in 2016 out of Texas A&M and spent four seasons in the system. After being released out of Spring Training in 2019, Birk hooked up with the Rockland Boulders (Pomona, NY) in the independent league Canadian-American Association. Through his first 18 games, Birk is hitting .386/.470/.614/1.084 with five doubles, one triple, two home runs and nine walks to 11 strikeouts.
