Happy Birthday - 12/2

SS Kristian Trompiz (17)
All I really know about Trompiz is that the Astros signed him this July as an amateur free agent out of Venezuela.

Happy Birthday - 12/2

1B Justin Shults (24)
Drafted in the 46th round in 2011 out of UC Riverside, Justin played in 51 games with the GCL Astros in his first season.  His batting line of .224/.317/.379/.696 isn't indicative of his improvement at the plate as the season progressed or of his improved numbers with runners on and RISP.

It's hard to believe that it's been almost 10 years since DK left us. In 209 games pitched for Houston from 1991 to 1997, Kile was 71-65 with a 3.79 ERA and a 1.408 WHIP.  In post-season pitching for Houston, he was 0-1 with a 2.57 ERA and a 0.571 WHIP.  Kile was an All-Star for the Astros in 1993 and 1997 and is honored with a memorial plaque on the outfield wall at Minute Maid Park.
