A few more of our Astros have flown the nest and found other homes via free agency. According to Baseball America's minor league free agent tracker:
RHP Jose Cisnero - Reds
RHP Paul Clemens - Phillies
1B Jesus Guzman - Hiroshima Carp
RHP David Martinez - Rangers
LHP Rudy Owens - Athletics
LHP Patrick Urckfitz - Marlins
In addition, Evan Drellich of The Houston Chronicle reported today that C Rene Garcia has also been signed by the Phillies. I wish each and every one of them the best.
I've updated my ongoing off-season transaction list with the latest.

Astros-Related Links You May Have Missed
A few items have been published this week that my readers may find interesting ...
The article lists all minor league free agents eligible for the first time (all teams). Baseball America tracked all of the minor league free agents through their interactive Free Agent Tracker last season. Once that is updated with this year's free agents, I will post a link or put the link on the front page. With that said, here are the Astros first time free agents:
RHP Murilo Gouvea (on the DL in 2013)
RHP Cameron Lamb (ended the season at Corpus Christi)
RHP Carlos Quevedo (ended the season at Corpus Christi)
LHP Sergio Escalona (on the restricted list)
C Luis Alvarez (ended the season at Corpus Christi)
C Cody Clark (outrighted to Oklahoma City after the season)
2B Jose Martinez (ended the season at Oklahoma City)
OF Michael Burgess (ended the season at Corpus Christi)
OF Che-Hsuan Lin (ended the season at Oklahoma City)
My best WAG (wild-arse guess) is that the Astros will re-sign Gouvea, Quevedo, Alvarez and Martinez.
MiLB.com Astros Organization All-Stars
MiLB.com released their list of Organization All-Stars for the Astros on Wednesday. As explained in the link, they are "honoring the players, regardless of age or prospect status, who had the best seasons in their organization." There are names on the list that won't surprise you, including George Springer, Lance McCullers and Carlos Correa, but there are a couple of names that may ... unless, of course, you've been reading my blog regularly. Do yourself a favor and read the entire post. It includes some excellent input from the Astros Coordinator of Pro Scouting Kevin Goldstein on the honored players.
Baseball Prospectus Astros Top 10 Prospects
Jason Parks of Baseball Prospectus released his Top 10 Prospect List for the Astros on Monday. I only have a couple of comments on the post. First of all, I find it really, really, really unlikely that Carlos Correa will make it to Houston in 2014 even as a September call-up. Even if Correa is ready, I don't think GM Jeff Luhnow is going to rush him nor do I think it likely that they will use a 40-man roster spot in advance of next year's Rule 5 ... think George Springer. Secondly, I am happy to see the addition of RHP Vincent Velasquez and RHP Michael Feliz into the conversation alongside righties Mike Foltynewicz, Lance McCullers and Mark Appel, but I find it difficult to believe that Parks doesn't see any of the five as having top of the rotation potential.
Parks posted this follow-up to his Top 10 list on Tuesday, debating whether Correa or Springer is the better prospect.
