As posted over the weekend, the 22nd player added to the WTH 25-Man Roster was Designated Hitter Chase Davidson. Also receiving votes were Telvin Nash, Kody Hinze, Matt Duffy, Jimmy VanOstrand and Tyler Burnett. For more information on the WTH Roster, go here.
This week we're going to pick our 6th and final relief pitcher. This list is compiled of those who received at least one vote in the last round of voting for relief pitchers. Jack Armstrong, with his mid to high-90's fastball, probably has the upper hand in winning this one as he was actually tied for the lead during the last round of voting. But you should probably at least consider Jorge de Leon with the stingiest WHIP and batting average allowed of the group (plus his 16 saves), Jason Chowning with his 2.45 ERA, Jason Stoffel with his 10.69 SO/9 and Mitchell Lambson with his 4.88 SO/BB.
With all that said, here are the 2011 stats for the players. Look them over and vote.

WTH 25-Man Roster
The 19th player and 5th Relief Pitcher selected for the What the Heck 25-Man Roster was Lefty Relief Pitcher Alex Sogard. As I had suspected, there was no clear-cut winner. As a matter of fact, Alex Sogard tied with Jack Armstrong and I cast my first deciding vote for Sogard in large part because we needed another lefty pitcher for our roster, but also because Sogard shows flexibility as he can handle long relief and spot start as well. Jack Armstrong will get another chance when we vote for our 6th and final Relief Pitcher in a few weeks. Also receiving votes were Xavier Cedeno, Jason Chowning, Jorge de Leon, Ebert Rosario, Evan Grills, Murilo Gouvea, Mitchell Lambson, Pat Urkfitz, Jason Stoffel and Josh Zeid. WTH 25-Man Roster - Relief Pitcher
As posted over the weekend, the 18th player added to the WTH 25-Man Roster was Utility Infielder Brandon Wikoff. Also receiving votes were Yonathan Mejia, Luca Martone, Josh Magee, Jean Batista and Jio Mier. For more information on the WTH Roster, go here.
This week we're going to pick our 5th relief pitcher. This list is compiled of the top vote getters from all prior rounds of voting for relief pitchers. This will probably not be a slam dunk pick for most voters, but there are a number of very interesting candidates. Juan Mojica and Krishawn Holley have the lowest ERA's but it is a small sample size. Zach Dando and Jorge de Leon had the stingiest WHIP's. De Leon and Ryan Cole are the save leaders of the group. Alex Sogard and Xavier Cedeno have added versatility with the ability to spot start or handle long relief (plus we REALLY need another lefty on our roster). A number of these pitchers have excellent SO/9 and SO/BB ratios ~ I keep coming back to Matison Smith in that regard. And finally you have wild cards Jack Armstrong, with a high 90's fastball; Chia-Jen Lo who dominated in 2009 before injuries took their toll; and Josh Zeid who could develop into the closer of the future.
With all that said, here are the 2011 stats for the players. Look them over and vote.

WTH 25-Man Roster
There is no winner this week in the WTH 25-Man Roster as we were only trying to whittle down our choices for relief pitchers. Top vote getters included Evan Grills, Chia-Jen Lo, Jack Armstrong, Matison Smith, Zach Dando, Rodney Quintero and Brad Dydalewicz. All of these pitchers will join our runners-up from the previous rounds of voting and will make up the pool from which we will chose our final two relief pitchers. WTH 25-Roster - Relief Pitchers (Narrowing Down our Options)

This week we're not going to vote for a final spot on the roster, but we're going to narrow down some of our choices for Relief Pitcher. There are quite a few pitchers who haven't been included in a poll yet because they didn't pitch enough innings last season to qualify or, in the case of Jack Armstrong, they didn't pitch at all. I would like to give some of those players a chance to compete with some of the others that received votes in earlier rounds. For example, Matison Smith has some eye-popping strikeout numbers, but didn't make the earlier list due to a cut-off on innings pitched. Similarly, Evan Grills has good overall numbers and, at only 19, I think he deserves a good look. And then there's Zach Dando with one of the stingiest WHIP's in the Astros system. We'll put the high vote getters from this list up against the runners-up from prior votes (Alex Sogard and Jason Stoffel, for example).
I know it sounds confusing because it is! All you really need to know is this. Vote up to five times for those pitchers you would like to see make it to the next round for a final vote. With all that said, here are the 2011 stats for the players. Look them over and vote.
