A non-drafted free agent from the Dominican Republic, Mesa played his third season with the DSL Astros in 2013. In 18 appearances, he had a 4.60 ERA and a 1.596 WHIP in 31 and a third innings.

RHP Jeff Fulchino (34)
An eighth round pick by the Marlins in 2002, Fulchino came to Houston from Kansas City as a waiver claim in December 2008. In 147 games for the Astros from 2009 to 2011, he was 9-9 with a 4.38 ERA and a 1.380 WHIP. Fulchino pitched in Independent League ball for the Bridgeport (CT) Bluefish in 2013.
RHP Mike Mendoza (58)
A fifth round pick by the Astros in 1973, Mendoza got his cup of coffee in 1979 and it was a perfect brew - one perfect inning pitched in one game.
