Oklahoma City 9, Round Rock 1

W- David Martinez (1-0)
L- Colby Lewis (0-1)

OKC home runs: Gregorio Petit (1, solo in 7th)

The RedHawks earned the split as David Martinez was dominant. He struck out 5 over 5 perfect innings, and it only took him 54 pitches (40 strikes) to do it. Bobby Doran threw 3 scoreless, allowing 2 hits, walking 1, and fanning 2 as the piggybacker. Raúl Valdés allowed a run on a double and struck out 2 in the 9th inning.

OKC put up a crooked number in all of their scoring innings as the scored the game's first 9 runs. Everyone in the lineup had a hit except for Domingo Santana. Austin Wates went 2-5, led off the game with a triple, and scored the first run of the day on an error off a George Springer fielder's choice. Gregorio Petit led off the 7th with his 1st homer of the season, then Japhet Amador, who went 2-5, added an RBI single. Lancaster 7, Lake Elsinore 4

W- Mike Hauschild (1-0)
L- Matt Shepherd (0-1)

Lancaster home runs: Brandon Meredith (1, 3-run in 5th), Carlos Correa (1, 3-run in 6th)

Not breaking news, but Carlos Correa is really good at baseball.

Appel made his first start of the year, and it seemed like he was laboring. He only lasted 2.2 innings and allowed 2 runs (1 earned) on 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 1. J.D. Osborne came on to bridge the gap, and went 1.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 2 hits, walking 1 and striking out 2. Osborne also uncorked 2 wild pitches and was called for a balk. Despite Appel's struggles, Mike Hauschild picked him up with an excellent piggyback outing. He finished off the game with 5 shutout innings and allowed 3 hits while striking out 6.

On offense, Carlos Correa (3) and Brandon Meredith (4) drove in all 7 runs. Meredith finished 2-4 with an RBI single in the 1st and a 3-run homer (1) in the 5th, which tied the game at 4. One inning later, 2012's #1 gave the JetHawks the lead with a 3-run shot of his own. .Correa went 3-4 with 3 runs scored. After the homers, Hauschild finished it off by blanking the Storm the rest of the way. Teoscar Hernandez went 2-5 with a run scored.

Also, with the homer, the Latin JetHawks just won a movie night with Correa.

Lancaster will welcome the San Jose Giants to The Hangar for 3 games. In the opener, Kyle Westwood and Vince Velasquez will take on Joe Biagini at 6:30 Pacific.

Quad Cities 7, Kane County 3

W- Gonzalo Sanudo (1-0)
L- Scott Frazier (0-1)

Quad Cities home runs: None.

The River Bandits got 5 runs after stretch time on their way to splitting with the Cougars.

James Ramsay got plunked, and then a wild pitch put him on 2nd and Elkins on 3rd. Brett Phillips completed the comeback with a 2-run single to put QC up 5-3. Phillips then stole 2nd, and then Jack Mayfield worked a walk. They both scored the insurance runs on a Conrad Gregor single. Mayfield and Ramsay both drew 2 walks and scored twice, while Elkins and Mathis had 2-hit days. Ramsay (3 steals) and Mathis (2) also wreaked serious havoc on the bases.
