Drafted by Houston in the fourth round in 2012 out of Bishop Amat High School in La Puenta, California, Ruiz got off to a great start in his first season in High A Lancaster. Through 43 games, he is hitting .298/.379/.421 with 12 doubles, three home runs and 25 RBI.
