Wins for Everybody!!!

Oklahoma City 13, Las Vegas 9

11 RedHawks players came up to bat during this game and every one of them had at least one hit.

Las Vegas drew first blood with a home run in the second off starter Jake Buchanan, but the RedHawks countered with a Max Stassi RBI double in the bottom of the frame to tie things up. But then Buchanan's team gave him a huge lead by scoring four more runs in the third and six in the fifth to give him a 10-1 lead going in to the sixth inning. Four more runs came across under Buchanan's watch, a three-run homer in the sixth and a lead-off double in the seventh that morphed into a run. Buchanan left the game after seven with an 11-5 lead, allowing five runs (four earned) on five hits and a walk while striking out four.

The RedHawks scored again in the bottom of the seventh to give Ross Seaton a 12-5 lead when he entered in the eighth. Two doubles, two walks, a single, an error and four runs later, Seaton exited the game with two on and two out. Enter Andrew Robinson, newly promoted from Corpus Christi, who stranded those runners and converted his first AAA save by retiring all four batters that he faced.

The OKC offense banged out 16 hits, seven of those for extra bases, including a 2-run homer from Kike Hernandez (2-for-5 3RBI R) and a 2-run double from Marc Kraus (2-for-4 2RBI R) in the third, and Gregorio Petit's 3-run homer in the fifth. L.J. Hoes also had a good night with three hits, including a double and an RBI. One of Austin Wates two hits was a triple; he also stole a base and scored twice. Domingo Santana only had one hit, a double, but he walked twice, stole a base and scored four times.

In the series finale, Nick Tropeano will take on Noah Syndergaard. First pitch is at 7:05 CST.

Corpus Christi 7, San Antonio 2

CC home runs: Telvin Nash (7, 2-R in the 9th)

The Hooks took the first game of a 4-game road series against San Antonio with some solid pitching, a lot of small ball and one big hit to cap it off.

David Rollins allowed the only two runs of the game in the first on his only walk and two of his three hits, but then didn't allow another base runner until the sixth inning. Tyson Perez was excellent as well, allowing only one walk in his three innings of work.

The Hooks tied it up in the fourth with two runs, got the go ahead run in the fifth and played add on with four late runs to seal the deal. Telvin Nash's 2-run homer in the 9th was his second hit of the day, to go with his double in the 5th. Nolan Fontana was 2-for-4 with a walk, scored twice and stole a base. Delino DeShields drove in three with a sac bunt and a 2-run single. Andrew Aplin walked and scored twice.

In game 2 of this series, Luis Cruz will face Leonel Campos at 7:05 CST.

Quad Cities 13, Wisconsin 2

The River Bandits put a nice exclamation point on the first half as they go in to the All-Star Break with a display of some serious firepower.

Chase McDonald got the party started with a 3-run blast in the first inning. Two more scored in the second on a James Ramsay RBI single and a bases loaded walk from Jon Kemmer. Brian Holberton padded the lead in the 3rd inning with a solo shot. He ended the day going 3-for-5 with a double and a home run.

Starter Michael Feliz had a 6-0 lead to work with when Wisconsin scored two unearned runs off of him in the fourth. That was all that Feliz (5IP 6H 0BB 4SO) and his tandem partner Jandel Gustave (4IP 4H 1BB 3SO) allowed.

But Quad Cities went on to score seven more times, including two late inning home runs from Tyler White. James Ramsay went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI, a walk, scored four times and stole a base. Jake Rodriguez was also 3-for-5 with a double. Brett Phillips and Chase McDonald also had multi-hit games.

The Bandits are off tomorrow for the All-Star Break.

Tri-City 3, Connecticut 2

L- Johnnie Kirkland (0-1)

TC home runs: J.D. Davis (1, 2-R in the 7th)

Tri-City scored late to take their first series of the season.

Blaine Sims made his first appearance for the Astros since being claimed from Atlanta in the minor league phase of the Rule 5 draft last November. Not unsurprisingly for a knuckleballer, a couple of wild pitches factored into the two Connecticut runs which scored off him, one in the first and one in the second. In four innings, Sims allowed the two runs off five hits and two walks while striking out two before giving way to Luis Ordosgoitti. Ordosgoitti (2H 1BB 5SO) held Connecticut scoreless for five innings, giving the 'Cats a chance to come from behind.

J.D. Davis' 2-run homer in the 7th tied it up where it stayed going into the bottom of the 9th. Ravel Santana walked, then advanced and scored on a pair of singles from Marc Wik and Ariel Ovando for the walk-off win. Tri-City was held to six hits.

Tri-City will face Lowell's Randy Perez on Monday at 6:00 CST. The ValleyCats starter is TBD.
