No future Astros with birthdays today, but one former Astro celebrates the day ~
OF Bob Gallagher (66)
A 17th round draft pick by the Dodgers in 1968, Gallagher was taken in the Rule 5 draft by the Red Sox in 1971 and then by the Astros in November 1972. In 173 games for Houston in 1973 and 1974, he hit .230/.277/.285 before being traded to the Mets in October 1974.
And don't forget that Gallagher was the grandson of one of the "clean" players on the 1919 Black Sox, John "Shano" Collins.
