Astros Minor League Snapshot

We are now 18 weeks in to the minor league season. Let's take a look at where things stand.

OKLAHOMA CITY

3rd    60-59    .504    3.0GB    W4

The RedHawks stubbornly remain in third place in the American Southern Division after going 4-2 last week, trailing first place Iowa by three games and second place Omaha by a game and a half. Oklahoma City will be hosting Iowa (63-56) for five games starting tonight as they go mano a mano (teamo a teamo?) against the first place team. The 'Hawks are 4-3 against the Iowa Cubbies this season. On Tuesday they will head west to face Fresno (57-61) for four. It will be the RedHawks' first and last look of the season at the Giants affiliate.

The Hooks downward spiral continues as they went 2-4 for the week and fell two games further back in the second half standings. They are currently in the midst of playing two weeks of games out of division. Corpus will try to take the rubber game tonight on the road against Northwest Arkansas (47-68) in their current series before heading down the road to face a very hot Arkansas Travelers (61-54) team for three. An off day on Monday will be followed by a repeat at home against these two Arkansas teams. The final two weeks of the season will be totally within the division.

Tri-City won the first of three on the road against Auburn (23-28) last night. At the conclusion of that series, they will play six straight against the very hot Hudson Valley team (37-15; 1st place in the McNamara Division) starting Saturday with three on the road before returning home to host the Renegades for three.
