AUSTRALIAN BASEBALL LEAGUE
Adelaide 8, Perth 7
This turned out to be the only game on the ABL slate; the other 2 games, which were taking place on Australia's East Coast, were both postponed. The Bite withstood a late charge from the Heat and held on for the win.
Chan-Jong Moon led off the top of the 9th with a double, and he eventually scored a critical insurance run on a sac fly. In the 6th, he grounded into a force out that brought in a run, and in the 1st, he scored on another sac fly. Tyler Brunnemann recorded his 7th save of the campaign, getting the final 4 outs of the game. He allowed an unearned run on a groundout (runner reached on an error) and a single in the 9th, and struck out 1.
The series finale will take place at 11:05 A.M. Australian Western time. That's 9:05 P.M. tonight, Central time.
LIDOM
Estrellas 4, Águilas 3
Jonathan Villar homered in the 8th inning to bring Águilas to within 1. Estrellas pulled into 2nd place in the round-robin with this win.
Tonight, Águilas will face Gigantes, who currently top the round-robin table. First pitch is at 7:30 Atlantic.
LIGA DE BÉISBOL PROFESIONAL ROBERTO CLEMENTE
Santurce 10, Carolina 0
Ruben Sosa got the start in LF for Santurce and finished 1-3 with 2 walks and 2 runs scored.
Carolina was held to 2 hits. Carlos Corporán went 0-2, and Jobduan Morales grounded out as a pinch-hitter in the 9th.
Santurce will take on Caguas, while Carolina hosts Mayagüez. Both games will take place at 7:30 Atlantic.
PROBEIS PANAMA
Águilas 5, Caballos 4
Caballos may have solved their offensive woes, but Águilas walked off with the win. Tyler White hit a 2-run triple and walked, Jack Mayfield finished 2-4, and Telvin Nash went 1-4.
These two teams will play again at 4:00 Eastern.
Industriales 5, Indios 0
Industriales knocked Cris Santamaria around in the final third of the game as all 5 of their runs came off of him; 4 of them were earned. Santamaria allowed 5 hits over 3 innings.
The 2nd game of this series is at 7:00 Eastern.
